Schindler's Knitting Mill is the only knitting mill in the Czech Republic that has been in continuous operation since 1854 - more than 170 years.
What's more, it still maintains its original production program. It specializes in the manufacture of knitted clothing and hosiery, i.e., knitting on both circular and flat knitting machines. The craft is passed down from generation to generation, and some of our employees are the children of former knitting mill workers.Now, with enthusiasm, excitement, and energy - using modern technologies and functional materials - we are continuing the tradition of knitting production in Krásná Lípa, of which we are duly proud and which we want to preserve and pass on to future generations.

Our knowledge and skills, databases, and know-how in the preparation and production of knitted fabrics for various purposes are at your disposal. We enjoy developing and creating new things. CUSTOM PRODUCTION
The knitting mill's strength lies in the production of professional clothing and thin knits with precision craftsmanship details, such as chain stitches. No other knitting mill in the Czech Republic has comparable experience in the production of "uniforms" - clothing manufactured in standard and plus sizes, for men and women, in large series (tens of thousands of pieces per year). In the past, the knitting mill has supplied brands such as Falke, Bode, and Lufthansa, and currently supplies Swiss Post. It also collaborates with smaller fashion brands and designers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland.
SYMPOSIA
"We organize regular knitting symposiums called Krásnolipské pletení (Krásná Lípa Knitting), intended for secondary school and university students from Czechia and Slovakia who focus on fashion design and knitting technologies. The next symposium, the third in the series, will take place on June 18-19, 2026. We collaborate with leading institutions such as UMPRUM Prague, TUL Liberec, and other schools and professional partners. We are also establishing cooperation with the National Technical Museum in Prague. In addition to symposia, we organize workshops and provide professional internships for students."
GUIDED TOURS
The knitting mill promotes the craft of knitting by organizing guided tours, open days, concerts, and exhibitions for the public. A publication mapping its history and present has been published. The company is located in an architecturally unique building, which is a cultural monument and is systematically maintained. The knitting mill's goal is to promote the craft and cooperate with partners such as the town of Krásná Lípa, Bohemian Switzerland, and the Grossschönau Museum in Germany.Photo gallery
